SHINER: Bernard Pustka, age 80, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. He was born on August 15, 1927 in Lavaca County, to Matt and Amalia Netardus Pustka, Sr. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army, 120th Combat Engineers, 45th Infantry Division; the founder of Pustka Electric Service, Honorary Life Member of Shiner KC’s Counsel # 3081, Yoakum Assembly #1128-4th Degree KC’s, member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Wied KJT, Shiner American Legion Post 201 and Life Member of Shiner VFW Post 6209. Survivors: wife, Agnes Marie Hybner Pustka of Shiner; daughters, Rosemary Riske and husband Arnold, Jr., Jo Ann Bashaw and husband Harry all of Victoria and Maggie Benes and husband Larry of Shiner; sons, Leo Pustka, Bob Pustka, Jr. both of Shiner and Thomas Pustka of Victoria; grandchildren, Holly Rosales, Jennifer Riske, Barbara Riske, Cory Benes, Adam Pustka, Michelle Pustka, Ross Plasczyk, Brodie Bashaw and Katherine Bashaw; great-grandchild, Dylan Leal; sisters, Molly Peters, Mary Ann Stock both of Shiner and Helen Motal of Hallettsville; brothers, John Pustka, Victor Pustka, Matt Pustka, Jr., all of Shiner and Joe Pustka of Victoria. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Pete Pustka. Visitation was from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Friday, (July 25th) at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home; visitation was from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with rosary at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. Rosary was at 9:30 a.m. by Knights of Columbus, on Saturday, (July 26th) with funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Joseph M. Hybner officiating. Burial at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to KC’s Scholarship fund or Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. |
