SHINER: Leonard Boedeker, Sr., age 82, of Houston, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. He was born on August 7, 1927 to George and Annie Koenning Boedeker. He was a retired security officer; a veteran of WWII and Korea having served in the U.S. Army and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and was a Catholic. Survivors: wife, Angelyn Cimrhanzl Boedeker of Houston; daughters, Margret Wishert and husband Marvin of Houston and Rosana Jones of Hockley; sons, Stephen Boedeker of Tennessee and John Boedeker and wife Michelle of Yardsfield, New Jersey; brothers, George Boedeker, Jr., of Victoria and Floyd Boedeker of Cuero; grandchildren, Michelle Boedeker, Adrian Washburn, Audrey Jones, Mike Jones and Wade Wishert. Preceded in death by: parents; son, Leonard Boedeker, Jr., and brother, Emmett Boedeker. Family visitation was from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral mass was at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner with Rev. Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
