~Johnnie Dierschke~
SHINER: Johnnie Dierschke passed away March 15, 2026 in Houston. He was born to Johnnie R. and Christine (Kurtz) Dierschke on the Kurtz homestead in Charlottenburg, a community near Shiner, Texas. He grew up on his parents’ farm in Henkhaus. He attended St. Joseph School in Moulton and graduated from Sam and Will Moore Institute (Moulton High School) in 1961. Johnnie then traveled to Houston to seek employment. In 1966, Johnnie met Linda Jurek. They married in 1967, in Houston. He served 6 years in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Johnnie worked in Sales for 49 years, first selling heavy construction equipment, then nuts and bolts. During that time he was an active member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, as well as a Charter Member of Notre Dame Knights of Columbus, Council 7036 and a member of the Southwestern Fastener Association. After 42 years of selling fasteners (managing the Houston Branch Office for Darling Bolt Company for 32 of those years), in 2010, he retired and moved back to Moulton. He was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Knights of Columbus Council 3244 in Moulton, and Moulton American Legion Post 392, where he served as Commander for 8 years. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Dierschke; son, Michael Dierschke (Jo Lynn); daughter, Laura Dierschke; granddaughters, Jordyn Fesperman (Greg), Kinley Nollkamper; great-grandson, Kylan Fesperman; sister, Shirley Hanslik (Edward); brother Randy Dierschke (Debbie); sisters-in-law, Judy Humphries and Madelyn Jurek, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diane Flessner; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Claudine and Kenneth Lewis, and Elizabeth and Hubert Janak; brothers-in-law, Robert Jurek and Ronnie Humphries; nephew, Kenneth Lewis. Visitation 4-6 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Shiner, with Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Memorials may be given to: Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Moulton American Legion Post 392 or Knights of Columbus Council 3244. |
