~Steve Kossa~

HALLETTSVILLE: Steve Clinton Kossa, passed away peacefully in his sleep, January 25th, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born on December 29th, 1951 to the late George and Georgia (Chovanec) Kossa, in Weimar, TX.

Steve graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1970. After graduation he went to work at Rice Food Market in Houston, TX. During this time he met the love of his life Donna Jansky at a Swiss Alp Dance. They were married on August 17th, 1974 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He then worked off shore for seven years. He also worked for Roadway and then retired from Enterprise in 2018.

Steve loved being outdoors hunting and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was very proud of his son Brian, daughter in law Leah and his pride and joy his grandson Brady.

Steve is survived by his wife Donna Kossa of 51 years, his son Brian, daughter in law, Leah and grandson Brady of West Columbia, TX.;  sister, Theresa Polasek of Columbus and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was proceeded in death by his parents; brother George Kossa Jr.;  father in law and mother in law, Joe and Dorothy Jansky.

Visitation 9 a.m.,Thursday January 29th, 2026, Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville with Fr. Michael Rother officiating. Entombment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Brian Kossa, Brady Kossa, Jay Hanslik, Greg Polasek, Zachary Jansky, Bruce Schneider and David Bohuslav.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or donors choice.
