YOAKUM: Yvonne Marie Wick, age 86, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026. She was born November 1, 1939 in Lavaca County to Alphonse and Mary Lee Appelt Jalufka. She worked at Tex Tan Western in the shipping department and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing yard work, selling Avon Products, watching tv and eating sweets. Survivors: daughter, Rhonda Wackar; grandchildren, Kyle Howell (Taryn) and Dustin Wick (Kaitlynn); great-grandchildren, Kaelynn Howell, Ethan Wick and Coltyn Wick; sisters, Rosemary Byrnes (J.T.) and Lisa Kottwitz (David); brothers, Lynn Jalufka (Judy) and Mark Jalufka (Linda); son-in-law, Kurtis Howell; furry grandchildren, Choco and WeeWee. Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Harvey Wick; daughter, Diana Howell; sons, Harvey Joe Wick Jr and Michael Wick; brothers, Gerry Lee Jalufka, Royce Jalufka and Wayne Jalufka; son-in-law, Sharrl Wackar. Visitation 10:00 a.m. with a rosary at 10:30 followed with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Entombment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Mark Jalufka, Raymond Jalufka, John Jalufka, Kurtis Howell, Charlie Jalufka and Jon P. Hybner.
